For over 40 years, Bill Bishop has been raising money to teach golf
to inner city youths. The "Bill Bishop Annual Benefit Golf Classic" raises funding for youngsters who may never
be in a position to play the game of golf. In 1971 he started the first annual Bill Bishop Pro-Am Golf Classic. The tournament
benefactor was junior golfers and the Cooper Hospital Leukemia Research Unit.
Bill Bishop's Junior
Golf Foundation operates a junior summer program at Freeway Golf Course. The program operates three days a week, Saturday,
Tuesday and Thursday, June through August. The program is open to boys and girls ages 8-17 and provides free golf equipment,
instruction and 18 hole play.
Bishop Golf is always in need of sponsors. If your company is looking to support area
youth in a positive way, please visit our Donations page and make a pledge to the 38th Annual Benefit Golf Classic.
